The success of the first new housing development of the Zorrotzaurre Regeneration Project has been notable. Data supplied by Jaureguizar, the firm managing the development through ‘Vive Zorrotzaurre’, shows that 88% of the 360 new dwellings that will be built under a cooperative arrangement have already been sold.

The rhythm of sales has differed by type of dwelling. The 112 officially protected social housing dwellings have all been sold, of the 117 price-controlled dwellings 87% have been sold and, lastly, of the 131 privately developed dwellings to be built, 70% have already been reserved.

The housing is distributed among several plots along the right bank of the Deusto canal, between Deusto and San Ignacio, overlooking the future island.

Specifically, the price-controlled buildings are in Deusto, close to the new Frank Gehry bridge and the IMQ Zorrotzaurre clinic close to Abandoibarra.

The social housing and the open market housing occupy plots in San Ignacio, overlooking the canal and Sarriko Park.

All these buildings will comply with the maximum energy qualification, “A” which will allow considerable savings in energy costs to the future earners.

Among the 360 new apartments, all types of families and needs are catered for: from cosy one-bedroom apartments to 130 m2 4 bedroom duplex apartments with terraces.

Building is due to start at the beginning of 2017 and is estimated to last 30 months.
